When I was a child, I saw ghosts. I called them ghosts because I had no other words for them. They seemed intangible, beings one could pass through. And they would simply stand there, looking at me.

In 2020, during the pandemic, I discovered Marina Magnésicos, the creative voice. I projected onto Marina the ability to create ghosts: beings with atrophied powers, personalities marked by human traits, and dreams that lead nowhere. At the same time, Lucrecia Blanco emerged, the storyteller and alchemist, maker of amulets, who subjects every form, no matter how abstract, to the constructs of her narrative.

They, along with other characters who followed, are my ways of invoking art. Beings that look for forms where none exist, attach themselves to models of the timeless, and pass through, like air, those matters that do not concern them. At times they become entangled in confusing networks and meaningless lines. At other times they appear clear and determined, turning their world into a center of attention.

They emerge from every species and every material. When they are not the objects of observation, they embody the essence of the figure that confronts the viewer's gaze.
